Jasen's story

Jasen
was diagnosed
with autism when he
was five years old. Jase is
a sweet, fun loving person. As a
toddler he was outgoing, bubbly, …..
He was the only baby in the family. He got
a lot of attention from everyone. When he
was about 14 months old my aunt who is
a socialworker, and at the time worked at
Children’s
Diagnostic
Center
noticed
that he
was not
progressing
as other children
his age. She recommended that I
take him to Easter Seals for an evaluation

Is the sky too high of a reach?   We have yet to see!

Est. December 31, 2020

We are a one-stop-shop of pooled resources for students with mild-moderate learning challenges. With a goal to continually expand each students’ world, possibilities, and reach beyond their own backyard.   DOES is offering a single source service providing assistance and references to:

  • Disability resources, tools, and support programs
  • Educational institutions (elementary, middle, and high school) that provide anywhere from basic to comprehensive accommodations
  • Buddy-Up Program™ (community service tie-in)
  • Take-Flight Beyond H.S.™ (college, tech/trade school, profession, gap year)
You can certainly invest the time (and, yes, it is an investment) to shop around, pounding the pavement or burning up the phone lines, to seek these things out yourself, individually.   However, we’d rather see you get a return on the investment you’ve been pouring into for years. We’ve already done the bulk of the homework for you.   It’s time we view students with learning challenges through different lens . . . through a dynamic lens . . .
